HAPPY BIRTHDAY. ERNESTO CHE GUEVARA 14 JUNE 1928 ROSARIO ARGENTINA

If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine.
Ernesto CHE Guevara de la Sarna Lynch
14.06.1928. Rosario, Argentina.

In faraway Australia, I was interested in Physician-writers, Physician-Revolutionaries. English had produced many Physician-writers whereas Latin America had produced many Physician-Revolutionaries: Che, Salvador Allende, Frantz Fanon are the best known ..
There have been many politicians educated as doctors, some good but mostly bad, including dictators!
Literature is where the doctors find their niche, there are some good physician-writers at the moment and have been: Michael Bulgakov, Anton Chekov, AJ Cronin (a childhood favourite), Somerset Maugham (I distinctly remembered him while I was a on ship off the coast of Borneo, on a school holiday), Sir Arthur Conan Doyle , I instructed the medical students to read his books as Sherlock Holmes was modelled after Doyle's clinical teacher at Edinburgh!

But the person who has been with me constantly for the past many years, seeing me through my medical student days, as a junior doctor and into my Consultant Physician days to my Professorial debut in Cuba... has been CHE..

Latin American countries were too enamoured with USA to listen to CHE while he was alive and now you can hear voice clearly, in the streets of Latin America and also in the USA with Black Lives Matter protests..

If you feel the pain of injustice in your heart, you are my brother..

Today is also the 175th birth anniversary of yet another great liberator of Cuba from the Spanish yoke..

Lt. General José Antonio de la Caridad Maceo y Grajales (June 14, 1845 – December 7, 1896) was second-in-command of the Cuban Army of Independence.
Fellow Cubans gave Maceo the nickname “The Bronze Titan" (Spanish: El Titán de Bronce), nickname that he earned after being wounded several times in battle.[1] Spaniards referred to Maceo as the "Greater Lion" (El León mayor). Maceo was one of the most noteworthy guerrilla leaders in 19th century Latin America, comparable to José Antonio Páez of Venezuela in military acumen.
