HOW OFTEN DO YOU MEET SOMEONE FROM . BHUTAN?

I like my stopovers in Doha on my way from Asia to either Europe or USA..
I have met people from all over the world, who are temporarily resident in Qatar, during my brief stopovers and some of them have become friends
I am not very talkative when I travel and especially with other travellers, but always very friendly with workers at Airport Lounges, Cabin Crew at Qatar Airways, staff at the various hotels I have stayed in Qatar..
I have lots of pleasant memories of brief interactions with these workers who are in Qatar for short or long periods of time.
On this journey from Cochin to Paris, I had one day's break at Doha and I stayed at Marriott Hotel Westin.
I was waiting for a friend of mine from Sri Lanka to drop by to say hello (he was one of the first people I had met in Qatar in 2012). The Guest Relations assistant was hovering at the entrance and I said hello and the usual chit chat.
Where are you from?
I was not prepared for the answer
Bhutan, she answered.
Most of the world class hotels have interns working or training and Kanga from Thimphu was training for one year at this Marriott hotel before she returns to Bhutan next year to work at the Marriott there.
I told her about the Bhutanese medical students at Santiago de Cuba, three Bhutanese and one Nepali who are all now back in Bhutan, I even remembered one name, Suresh Mothey.
Also Cuba had sent specialist doctors on occasional basis to Bhutan and provides about 10 scholarships for studies in Medicine for Bhutanese students.
I wish her well in her chosen profession of Hospitality and wish her a pleasant stay in Doha and a swift and happy return to her country.
