CRY FOR OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS IN LEBANON

whose heart is not touched by what happened at the Lebanese capital city's port? 150 has died , thousands injured and hundreds and thousands made homeless.

Initially the politicians blamed the usual suspects including Israel but it was soon clear who and which was to blame.

I was so proud of Emmanuel Macron and France that he was there personally and two planeloads of medical help were on its way.

This morning I watched this painful video on BBC, Tatiana H, wondering about her father, Ghassan. This is one of the many heart breaking tales.

Israel has pleaded with the government of Lebanon to accept its offer for medical help, as two hospitals in Israel are close to the Beirut and also are used to accepting Syrian refugees who cross the border seeking medical help. Hezbollah has refused the aid but Israel is in talks with Cyprus, Greece and Italy to send medical teams to augment the medical teams there so that they can accept Lebanese patients.

Two of the Israeli hospitals, Ziv Medical Center in Safed and Western Galilee Medical Center in Nahariya, are only about 100 kilometers (62 miles) from Beirut. A third, Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, is about 30 kilometers (18 miles) further away, making them the closest hospitals to Beirut outside of Syria or Lebanon.

Israel like Cuba has disaster teams standing ready to assist catastrophes anywhere in the world. Within days of the Earthquake in Haiti and the mudslide that broke the dam in Brasil, Israelis were  setting up the field hospitals to treat the injured. They would do the same this time as well, if not in Lebanese territory, in a third country to help our brothers and sisters in Lebanon.

We are proud of Macron, we are proud of the people of France..

The human tragedy is immense, pray and think of the thousands of people affected within the borders of Lebanon and elsewhere..

As the Iranian psychiatrist and philosopher had said of Sufism:

The basis of Sufism is consideration of the hearts and feelings of others. If you haven't the will to gladden someone's heart, then at least beware lest you hurt someone's heart, for on our path, no sin exists but this.

No greater sin exists not to think of the Lebanese regardless of their religion or political beliefs as our brothers and sisters.
