Today Mother’s Day is celebrated in Cuba, along with many other countries in this hemisphere and elsewhere.
If you ask a Cuba, what is the most precious thing in their lives, the answer usually is : My family
The devotion the daughters have for their mothers is exceptional in Cuba. I have seen devoted care offered by the daughters over the course of years to their mothers, especially when they are infirm or incapacitated. Incredible.
Happy Mother’s Day to all my friends in Cuba
In the past couple of days there have been celestial shows day and night: Sun Halo during the day and full moon at night.
Here is Sun Halo from Cuba, along with the flag as well as the National Tree. Roystonea Regia or Cuban Royal Palm.
A Sun halo is caused by the refraction, reflection, and dispersion of light through ice particles suspended within thin, wispy, high altitude cirrus or cirrostratus clouds. As light passes through these hexagon-shaped ice crystals, it is bent at a 22° angle, creating a circular halo around the Sun. The prism effect of light passing through these six-sided ice crystals also separates the light into its various colour frequencies, making the halo look like a very pale rainbow, with red on the inside and blue on the outside.
