INDIANS ARE DYING. .. CONTINENTS APART.. SADNESS IS THE SAME..

She was only 28 from the Navajo Nation in Arizona, USA.
Her partner, a police officer for the tribe, tested positive. She stayed at home to look after him. Her first test was negative. few days later she complained of leg pains and back aches. One day later she was dead. The test came back positive.
She leaves behind a one year old daughter.

A continent away, an Ocaina/Huitoto , well known in the Colombian Amazon and elsewhere
dies in the provincial hospital. The doctors had walked out protesting the lack of masks and protective equipment.

I did not know either of them personally. But the sadness is the same.
Across from the cafe in Leticia in the Colombian Amazon where I might stop for a cofee there is a mural
and the portrait of the old man is prominent

I have a special connection with this movie through the TICUNA indians who live in the village upstream from Leticia.

It takes them two hours to come to town, and in the afternoon they go home, after exchanging goods and purchasing what is necessary.
(here I am seen with Migue Dionisis Ramos who has a part in the movie, El Abrazo del Serpiente)
In Brasil, when an Indian dies of suspected Corona, they are told to put Cardiac arrest as cause of death. Hundreds of Indians are dying in the Amazonian region which has very high rate of the infection.

Chipni him inesthin min hiweti..(travel well Creator has already prepared /made good your path. Chipni hok' amana api yo echemi yecha amnokin yokista hetsi yo hono.(Creator be with them and bless their family today And always.)

Here is a poem (in spanish) from a Colombian Indian belonging to the same tribe as Antonio Bolivar
