It was time to leave Casablanca (here’s looking at you, kid!) for Miami and its renowned national park. While I generally have positive feelings about flying with Royal Air Maroc (RAM), let me say upfront that this 9-hour flight was just ordinary.
I have great confidence in the pilots operating these aircraft, and our captain skillfully navigated us through some heavy turbulence over the Eastern Atlantic. However, the aircraft itself—a Boeing 787-8—showed its age. It lacked Wi-Fi, which feels outdated for a long-haul flight of this nature, though the bathrooms were clean.
The Service:
The mostly female flight attendants were polite but lacked the attentiveness and proactiveness I’ve experienced with other airlines, like Qatar Airways, where Moroccan flight attendants tend to excel. The service here felt detached by comparison.
The Food:
For a business class offering, the meal was underwhelming—just passable. If you’re considering this route, it’s worth noting that the alternative via Paris with Air France offers a significantly better experience in terms of both service and dining.
they said it was chicken tagine and it was very cold
Quiche for breakfast and a mint drink
Value for Money:
The most redeeming aspect of this flight was its price, making it a true “budget business class” experience. While the cost was reasonable, the compromises in service and amenities reflected that.
In summary, this flight served its purpose, but it was by no means special. Always remember: you get what you pay for!
Morocco is one of my favourite countries to visit and I have enjoyed RAM on short haul flghts to Tunisie and France, Portugal and Spain from Morocco. The quality of service is much poorer on the long haul
