KUALA LUMPUR. 50 % EATING AND 50% SHOPPING

I have never been to a city where every single available public place is crammed with either tables and stalls set up to sell a wide variety of things or food for sale. Every where you go there are cafés, restaurants, stalls selling food.

at a metro station.

at the lobby of the hotel ..

Regarding food, it is everywhere. In the hotel, in the streets , at the malls, at lunch time along the main roads ..

Happy hour at the hotel I am staying ..

Most of the people crowding well stocked malls and shops seem to be obese

whereas the people lining up to eat at the many eateries seem to be thinner..

could it be, just could it be, that the Obese shoppers spend more on shopping and have less money to eat well?

In Malaysia, food can be distinguished into category one: Fresh cooked meals and two: highly processed foods

The people shopping at popular malls (sogo in KL and not KLCC) and the people crowding fast food restaurants seem to be the same group of people, one can tell by their way of dressing.. who also seem to have a high rate of Type 2 DM. These are all associations only and may not be cause and effect!

To me, KL is a great place to eat because of the variety of food one can eat here ..

Bon Apetit! Buen Provecho! Bom Proveito!
