A population which knew the value of Discipline
People genuinely concerned about the welfare of their fellow citizens
Societies which were viewed as just societies by their population with no great internal problems
I was impressed with Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Korea and China, as well as Thailand, Vietnam. I will reserve my comments for Cambodia, there have been only a few cases but I am not sure the reasons why.
The contrast of a country in turmoil with a government which is truly neither representative nor legitimate is Malaysia.
Today's newspaper headlines are all about new clusters of Covid 19 and the lockdowns and incongruous political commentaries by what look like very incompetent people dressed as if they are off to a fancy dress party.
Those of us who love Malaysia can say goodbye to our desires to visit Malaysia in 2021!
The above photographs are from China, a very close friend of mine from Shanghai is with a group of 20 people trekking to very high altitude mountains under the guidance of medical and spiritual leaders.
How can we think of spiritual matters in the west when we are beset with so many psychological and social and extremist matters and opinions. Mental Health problems on the rise, Fascism on the rise .. Let us be clear, Covid 19 Illness caused by SARS virus does not cause FASCISM.. It is us whether you are in Hungary under Urban or in Brasil under Bolsanaro or in Philippines under Duterte or in USA under Trump who are nurturing and cultivating Fascism ..Just ask why is Trudeau in Canada is not leading his country towards Fascism nor Jacinda Arden in Aotearoa? Why are the Kiwis that different from Aussies whose reaction to the lockdown has been so dramatic to read in the papers. Australia is closed until the end of 2021, I am told.
I felt a tinge of envy for my friend in China who for the next ten days will be trekking in the high mountains towards the border with Tibet. I look forward to receiving photographs.. I am grateful for the technology..
